My name is Laura May and I am a writer from Essex, UK. My work explores themes of trauma, mental health, recovery, feminism and gender. I love to write - poetry mostly - and here you can find all the latest projects I am working on, as well as my published books.

I am currently undertaking my PhD at the University of Suffolk, creating a collection of ekphrastic poetry that challenges gender norms and stereotypical roles of women.

​

Professionally, I am a Communications and Engagement Manager for a brilliant London-based charity. This means I am lucky enough to write for a living, while being able to explore my personal passions alongside my day job.
